Current Capabilities continued Mapping - DMI-Services Desktop Mapping tools are easy and intuitive, and give you the ability to navigate, add layers, and mark-up map layers with drawing tools and drag and drop icons. These icons can contain links to more information about the incident and double-clicking the icon will access the linked information. These mapping tools also allows responders to retrieve information from external GIS (Geospatial Information System) sources such as aerial imagery, flood plain maps, and topographical data which can be included in the Incident Report. Private Messenger - The DMI-Services Messenger capability provides a simple way to exchange electronic messages with another DMI-Services operator without leaving the DMI-Services working environment. The messenger capability is private and can be used only among registered DMI-Services operators. Alerts - Alerts are urgent messages sent by DMI-Services operators to provide operators with the ability to quickly and effectively disseminate information to the responder community. Alerts ensure that operators are made aware of urgent matters requiring their immediate attention by notifying them that they need to check DMI-Services. Alerts can contain graphic files; text files or other attachments to provide improved situation awareness. The Standardized Equipment List (SEL) - is a publication of the InterAgency Board (IAB). The SEL promotes interoperability and standardization among the response community at the local, state, and federal levels by presenting this standard reference. The IAB is an advisory board to the Attorney General of the United States and the Director of Military Support, and consists of officials from various local, state, and federal government organizations. Attachments - DMI-Services operators have the ability to attach files to incident reports such as photos, maps, floor plans, messages and any relevant incident information. Home
