Introduction to DMIS
provides fundamental information needed by all DMIS students. Topics
include responder information needs; DMIS background, objectives,
principles, architecture, development approach, and current
capabilities; the DMIS Collaborative Operations Group (COG); COG
functions; and user privileges.

of senior responders teamed with information technology personnel. This
course provides planners with “recipes” of the things to consider when
making DMIS installation decisions. Installation decision examples from
other jurisdictions are included.
-
DMIS Software
Installation
provides system
requirements, a pre-installation checklist, installation instructions,
and trouble-shooting aids for DMIS Administrators.
-
Getting Started
introduces DMIS screen layout and various DMIS functions to Trainers,
Administrators, Planners, and Operators.
-
DMIS Administration
provides Trainers and Administrators with details on creation and
maintenance of Operator accounts and privileges.
-
DMIS Operations
gives users
detailed instructions, tips, and cautions on the use of DMIS tools.
When given in a computer laboratory, the course includes a tabletop
exercise in which students employ DMIS while playing responder roles.
