About DMI-Services Button

Approach:

DMI-Services employs a broad government/science/industry collaborative approach to software product development. Products are developed incrementally and iteratively; i.e., in small “bites” of capabilities that are enhanced over time.

Tool development is achieved with responder input throughout the software development process. The standards necessary to achieve information sharing via the DMI-Services Interoperability Backbone are developed with industry in a formal standards development organization.

For those with a more technical background, DMI-Services employs a tailored form of the Unified Software Development Process using the IBM Rational tool suite. DMI-Services run as a client in a common services architecture in which communication is achieved via a message-oriented middleware. DMI-Services interoperability is accomplished by exposing selected interfaces to the common services architecture as Web Services using SOAP-XML and Web Services Definition Language (WSDL).
