System Requirements:

For optimum performance, a computer running DMI-Services should have at a minimum: A current Windows operating system (e.g., WIN-ME, WIN-XP, WIN-2000) or a previous version that is still being supported by Microsoft (WIN-NT, WIN-98)

A Pentium processor

128 MB of RAM

56K modem

A CD-ROM drive

200 MB available disk space for installation

60 MB available disk space after installation

Our overall objective is to support cross-platforms. Future releases beyond FAST TRACK will be tested and readied for implementation in non-Windows platforms (such as UNIX or MAC.)

Performance

If you are getting good performance out of your computer system, you will get good performance out of DMI-Services software. Higher Internet connection produce faster response times.

If a DMIS administrator is using TIE and attaching a 20MB of photos to a report with only 28.8 Kbps connectivity, a fast response should not be expected. There is no definitive performance threshold -- it all depends on how the tools are used.
